Red Mountain

About Red Mountain

Red Mountain Resort has been named one of the Top Ten Resorts of North America by Forbes Magazine, and is quickly becoming one of North America’s most sought-after mountain destinations.

Red Moutnain resort is only a ten minutes drive north of the Canada/US Border, a 2.5 hour drive from Spokane International Airport (Washington state) and 3.5 hour drive from Kelowna International Airport. Red is easily accessible from major airports from both Canada and the United States. The regional airports of Trail – a 20 minute drive, and Castlegar –a 30 minute drive also serve the mountain.

At Red Mountain, visitors can choose from 87 runs spread across two stellar mountains that feature everything from wide-open groomers to steep, powder-filled glades. With more than 1,685 skiable acres and 880 meters (2,919 feet) of vertical terrain serviced by 6 total lifts, there is a lot to explore at Red. The abundant snow, friendly staff and locals, and the short lift lines are just a few reasons why guests fall in love with Red.

Red Mountain Ski Resort

Ski Canada has once again placed Red Mountain ski Resort’s trees, steeps and powder amongst the best in Canada. Along withthis, Red’s Silverlode and Paradise areas offer plenty of wide-open groomed runs for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

Red Mountain is actually two mountains -- Red Mountain and Granite Mountain.

Red Mountain is a conical mountain that is as steep as it looks. The Back Trail offers groomed cruising for intermediates, but the rest of the mountain is designated diamond or double black diamond.

Paradise Basin, on the sunny side of Granite Mountain, is another ski area onto itself. And with beginner runs, groomed cruisers, bumps and tree skiing, you'll find the terrain right for you. The rest of the mountain is a powder-hound's dream, with a mixture of powder and trees, trees and powder.

Nordic skiers will find 50 km of trails for skaters and traditional skiers.

Backcountry touring is also very popular at Red Mountain and in the surrounding area.

The town of Rossland, just 3 km from Red Mountain, has accommodations to suit almost any need -- from quiet bed and breakfasts to full convention facilities.
